Assigments

"The supreme accomplishment is to blur the line between work and play." Arnold Toymbee, 1852-1883

Arnold had it right. For your first assignment I would like you to play and have some fun while expressing yourself. Playing is at the heart of rediscovering your passion so this assignment is a directive to get you to have fun with your talent again.

The topic for this assignment is: If I were a tin can. That's right. I am challenging you to use whatever medium you wish and create something that embodies the concept of some aspect of life as a tin can. This topic comes directly from one of my favorite high school teachers, Father Francis Thomas Moore, our English teacher who taught a class in creative writing. You may write something, or sculpt something, or paint something, or photograph something, whatever your form of expression dictates; just have fun doing it! Send in your writing, or a photo of your art work, or an attached illustration and some of the entries will be posted on this site. Sound like fun? I hope so. I am looking forward to see what you create!
